We saw a very fresh tree debarking with claw marks, and the tree trunk was still wet under the peeled bark. It might have been there that morning because it was in the shade, so it did not dry out too fast, or maybe the bear cooled off in the nearby stream to hide from the 30-degree heat just a little while before. Furthermore, there were large patches of flattened grass not far from there, with clear paths."
